🌐💵 OKADA COOPERATIVE ENTERPRISES
THE VISION OF OKADA TRADERS COOPERATIVE MULTI-PURPOSE SOCIETY – (COMMUNITY ENTERPRISE)
The OKADA Traders Multipurpose Cooperative Society started in 2004 as a weekly contribution by four young men who invested their little resources in motorcycles (Okada) which was given out to riders who then brings back a daily or weekly returns as agreed.
The “Okada Cooperative Contributions Group” soon grew rapidly and now have Traders, Artisans as well as major (Core Investors) as members. The major investors put in a lump sum of money and expect a return on their investment after an agreed period of time.
POST -COVID LOCKDOWN: the COVID-19 lockdown affected much of our operations despite all efforts because of widespread disruption. Sudden withdrawal of funds and severe shortage of daily contributions meant our daily functions became limited. There was however; a shift of ideology and business model as inspired by my Chairmanship and other top investors after the COVID 19 lockdown towards a diversified cooperative enterprise. We have now started invested in food processing, business centre, farming and built estate venture as part of our efforts to widen the capital base and income levels of our cooperative services. We have also reached out to core investors to improve the financial base of the OKADA cooperative society.
